HALO-HALO IN THE HOUSE!!!

Try this famous Filipino samalamig: 'Halo-Halo'!

It's our pleasure to share to you this amazing dessert that's been an all-year round favorite in the Philippines that even foreigners from around the world could't get enough of. 

It consist of different fruits (pretty much anything you want to put in it, go ahead) but the traditional way recipe consist of  Kaong (sweet palm fruit), Macapuno (silky coconut), Langka (Jackfruit), Mungo (mungo beans), Saba (Banana-like plantain), Ube (Purle yam), Mais (Corn), Nata de coco (Coconut gelatin), Pinipig (Dried rice, pounded), Sago (Tapioca pearls), Crashed Ice, Sugar and Milk. 

Why is it called Halo-halo?
Halo-Halo means 'mixed' in English because it contains of different fruits and you will have to use a spoon to mix it all together before you can it eat.  Halo-Halo's concept is simply to put every sweet fruit topping into one delicious dessert with crushed ice in it to give it a cool taste. 



In Pagsanjan, Laguna they have their famous Aling Taleng's Halo-Halo! 
Their secret ingredient that makes their Halo-Halo so special ang unique is their homemade sweetened Kundol (wintermelon) on the top. 

So when you plan to go on a road trip to Laguna, don't forget to stop by at Aling Talengs' Halo Halo!
